The Tennessee Titans already knew who they would be playing in the 2026 season, but now with their schedule officially dropping on Thursday, they get to see when they will have to prepare for certain opponents.
There will be a good amount of revenge games on the Titans’ schedule. Right out of the gate, they will be hosting the New York Jets, whom Robert Saleh coached from 2021-2024 before being fired. Then in Week 3, they will be playing the New York Giants, whom Brian Daboll coached from 2022-2025.
Revenge games are always circled on the calendar, and fans shouldn’t think for a second that these coaches don’t have these games on their minds already. While members of the Titans will get a shot at a revenge game against their old teams, Tennessee could be circled on a star running back’s calendar.
Titans set to finally experience going up against RB Derrick Henry
The Titans will be home the first two weeks of the season, but their second road game in Week 4 will be against the Baltimore Ravens, who had signed former Titans running back Derrick Henry back in 2024.
From 2016-2023, Henry established himself as one of the best players in Titans history. There were only three out of eight seasons where he didn’t reach 1,000+ yards and he has scored double digit touchdowns every season since 2018.
Since signing with Ravens, Henry has continued his dominance in a run-first offense. In his first year with the Ravens, Henry rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns on 325 carries. Then last season, Henry rushed for 1,595 yards and 16 touchdowns again on 307 carries. He will be going into 2026 looking for the same production.
Now, for the first time since leaving Nashville, Henry will get the chance to show the Titans what they have been missing the last two seasons. Even though this game won’t be in Tennessee, Henry will still be looking to make a big statement against his old team. Let’s not forget, the Titans and Ravens had a little bit of a rivalry when Henry was in Tennessee. Now he will be rushing against them.
Tennessee’s revamped defense will be orchestrated to play physical football under Robert Saleh and with their free agent signings, it is built to help stop the run. However, that is easier said than done when it comes to a player like Henry. Titans fans should be nervous, but not scared when Tennessee travels to Baltimore to take on Henry.
