The Tennessee Titans are in a stage of their organization where they believe that they have their hopeful franchise quarterback. Cam Ward is only going into a crucial second campaign. In his rookie season, Ward was sacked 55 times, which was a major problem for the offense.

While the Titans have solidified a lot of their roster going into training camp, bringing in more help on the offensive line is not the worst idea in the world. Moe Moton from Bleacher Report possesses a great idea regarding what the Titans should be looking to do to improve Ward's protection.

Moton is suggesting that the Titans should be looking to bring in former Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker, who was released by the Lions earlier this offseason. In addition, Moton is also suggesting that the Titans should be looking to start Andre James, as well as find a role in the offense for rookie running back Nicholas Singleton.

When it comes to Decker, Moton focused on how Dan Moore Jr. completely struggled in 2025 and that his pass-blocking was a major liability.

"If the Tennessee Titans are serious about quarterback Cam Ward's pass protection, they must upgrade at left tackle. Dan Moore Jr. has struggled in pass-blocking sets for most of his career. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed eight sacks while on the field for 621 pass-blocking snaps in 2025." said Moton.

"Although it would be bold to bench a player with a $19.5 million base salary, the front office appears to have overpaid for Moore. The new coaching staff has to right that wrong to keep Ward upright in the pocket." Moton added.

The Titans don’t have to worry about paying Ward market value money for a couple of years, so now is the time to load up the roster with expensive veterans. Decker would provide a lot of value for Ward and the Titans. Decker has always been a quality left tackle.

Getting him to Nashville would not just solidify the offensive line, but it would give Ward a great fighting chance to prove to the new coaching regime that he is indeed the future of the franchise. With training camp right around the corner, the Titans will have to be very sure that they feel comfortable with all aspects of their roster, including Ward's protection.
