The 2026 NFL Draft has finally arrived! Tennessee Titans fans will soon learn who Mike Borgonzi will be bringing to Nashville and adding to the roster that will be led by head coach Robert Saleh.
There is so much that can go right for the Titans, who own the No. 4 overall pick. There is also so much that can go wrong for them, both directly and indirectly. Whether it's because of the mistakes Tennessee makes, or what their division rivals do, there are three nightmare scenarios that could make Titans fans very concerned throughout the draft.
Titans' 3 nightmare scenarios for the 2026 NFL Draft
Jaguars have solid draft despite not having first round pick
When the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to trade up from No. 5 to No. 2 to draft Travis Hunter last year, part of the compensation was sending this year's first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns. Hunter was brought to Jacksonville to play both sides of the ball, and there were different ways to analyze that trade.
While Jacksonville had a solid season, the payment they made to get Hunter is currently not working out. Now, they will enter this year’s draft without a first round selection.
Teams who don’t have a first round pick will see a ton of talent go off the board before they have the chance to draft, but James Gladstone knows a thing or two about late round picks. Gladstone worked with the Los Angeles Rams from 2016-2024 in their front office, and the Rams have had a reputation for drafting well despite not having a first round pick a majority of those years.
If Jacksonville, who is already the best team in the division, has a solid draft class without drafting in the first round, Titans fans are going to be angry.
Texans add immediate defensive star power
While Jacksonville is the best team in the division, there is no denying that the Texans have the best defense in all of football. They also just extended EDGE Will Anderson Jr. to the biggest non-QB deal in NFL history. Houston is all about defense and if they manage to add more firepower on that side of the ball, the Titans are going to struggle even more than they did last year against them.
Houston’s offense has been inconsistent, but their defense is elite and the last thing the Titans need to see is them acquiring someone like Kayden McDonald to add to their defensive line.
Titans pass up on Jeremiyah Love at No. 4 overall
Free agency was all about building up the defense for the Titans, and they brought in minimal help on offense. Even though it’s a controversial topic across the NFL, the Titans are in a great spot to draft the best player in running back Jeremiyah Love.
Love would bring an immediate dynamic to this offense, both on the ground and through the air. Having a stable rushing attack with a young quarterback is crucial to have. If the Titans decide to pass on Love, they are taking a major risk of losing out on not just a great player, but someone who can make life easier for Cam Ward.
