When June 1st arrives, there will be plenty of moves across the National Football League. The biggest name that has been mentioned to be moved is former Tennessee Titans wide receiver, A.J. Brown, who a lot of people are expecting to be traded to the New England Patriots. It’s the worst-kept secret in the league at this point.

There will be plenty of players who could be either released or traded once June 1st hits because of the change in financials. This could heavily benefit the Titans when it comes to the free agent market, or if there is a player that would make sense to trade for.

Even with the additions they made in free agency and through the NFL Draft, the Titans are still listed as suitors for players who could be traded, but there is one listed by Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report that doesn’t make a ton of sense anymore for Tennessee.

Jaguars' veteran defensive lineman listed as trade target for Titans (but it's no longer a fit)

Knox listed seven players as top post- June 1st trade candidates and the Titans find themselves listed as a potential suitor for Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman, Arik Armstead who played under Robert Saleh in San Francisco at one point.

"The Jags have taken steps to reload their defensive front, trading for Ruke Orhorhoro before drafting Albert Regis and Wesley Williams in Rounds 3 and 4, respectively. Armstead now looms as a prime post-June 1 trade candidate who should interest teams seeking more defensive help up front." said Knox.

If there was a common theme for the Titans in free agency, it was them bringing in players who had connections with the coaching staff. For the defense, the Titans brought in players like Jermaine Johnson, John Franklin-Myers, Tony Adams, and Solomon Thomas. All of these players previously played under Saleh.

Seeing someone like Armstead being pinned as a fit for the Titans makes sense, but there is no longer a fit considering that the Titans already brought in a revamped defensive line that now also features Keldrick Faulk, who Tennessee drafted late in the first round of the draft.

Armstead is on the backend of his prime and his production hasn’t been what Jaguars fans wanted when he joined them back in 2024. While Saleh could get him back close to the 49ers version of himself, the Titans should be more focused on who is already in the building rather than try to keep recreating the past.
