The Tennessee Titans have held four training camp practices to date. Saturday's session was the first open to the fanbase. One of the underrated standout performers was seventh-round rookie tight end Jaren Kanak.
Kanak had quietly been impressive throughout offseason workouts (OTAs and minicamps). The former Oklahoma standout has seemingly carried that momentum over to training camp. The Titans are deep at tight end, but Kanak has efficiently taken advantage of his opportunities.
Between the two practices on Thursday and Saturday, Kanak totaled five receptions, Jim Wyatt noted. "Tight end Jaren Kanak has been more active the past two sessions, and the guy looks like an athlete," Wyatt wrote in his observations article. It'll be worth tracking his progress as the Titans prepare to begin the preseason.

The Titans are excited about having sophomore Gunnar Helm step into the primary pass-catching spot at tight end. They also signed Daniel Bellinger to a three-year, $24 million contract in free agency. Bellinger is expected to also play a significant role at the position, given his familiarity with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
The Titans also have a plethora of veterans competing for the TE3 role on the 53-man roster. David Martin-Robinson has been a mainstay as a pretty significant special teams contributor. General manager Mike Borgonzi also signed Kylen Granson to a one-year deal in free agency.
Kanak previously played linebacker at Oklahoma. He made the self-recommended position switch to tight end this past season. All things considered, he was extremely impressive and athletic in his debut season, registering 44 receptions for 533 yards in 13 starts en route to being named Third-Team All-SEC.
Kanak will probably have to settle for a special teams role as a rookie, but his linebacker background projects easily there. When afforded opportunities to be a playmaking pass-catcher, the Hays, Kansas native has been athletic and impactful at training camp. Kanak is a rookie with future upside.
