The Tennessee Titans have already been aggressive in their quest to add talent around Cam Ward this offseason. They signed Wan'Dale Robinson and Daniel Bellinger to significant contracts, giving the young QB new weapons to work with.

Still, this group of pass catchers leaves something to be desired. Between Robinson, Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, and Chimere Dike, the receivers aren't exactly the elite group that a second-year quarterback would prefer.

General manager Mike Borgonzi might not be able to completely change that in the 2026 NFL Draft, especially if he chooses to spend the 4th overall pick on a different area of need. But Connecticut receiver Skyler Bell offers a low-cost alternative worth taking.

Skyler Bell is Titans' perfect late-round WR to support Cam Ward

In many ways, Ward was set up to fail in his rookie season. He was surrounded by a limited group of pass catchers and a coaching staff on its way out of Tennessee. This offseason, it's crucial that the Titans give their star quarterback everything he needs to succeed.

Adding a reliable wideout like Bell does just that. He's not considered among the top receivers in the draft class, but he's one of the most well-rounded players in the bunch. His technique as a route runner is staggering for a small school product. He explodes out of his breaks, consistently creating separation between himself and opposing defenders. Once the ball comes his way, he consistently brings it down. He even has the speed to threaten defenses over the top. posting a 4.40-second forty-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Ward doesn't need another big-play receiver. Robinson and Dike already provide that explosive threat. But this offense could still use a consistent option on third downs. When the quarterback is out of options, he needs an outlet. Bell could be that for Ward.

It likely wouldn't take an early draft pick to get him. Based on recent mock drafts, Bell could be available in the early fourth round. At that point in the draft, the pick would be a no-brainer for the Titans.

Most of the debate in Tennessee leading up to the draft will undoubtedly be about what the Titans do in the first round. The decision between Jeremiyah Love, Carnell Tate, an edge rusher, or a wild card fourth option will be at the front of fans' minds. But if the Titans can land Bell in the fourth round, it could end up being the most influential decision they make in late April.
