The Tennessee Titans will enter the 2026 NFL Draft as a rebuilding team under general manager Mike Borgonzi. After enduring consecutive 3-14 seasons, Borgonzi led an aggressive period in free agency that saw the franchise commit more than $300 million to a dozen-plus free agents. The Titans are getting closer to building a more complete roster around quarterback Cam Ward.

The next opportunity to accelerate Tennessee's rebuild surrounds the No. 4 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Titans have a significant decision to make with their top-five pick. It wouldn't be surprising if Borgonzi's preference was to trade the selection in exchange for multiple picks.

One potential suitor is starting to emerge as Tennessee's ideal trade partner. The Dallas Cowboys are equipped with two first-round selections at Nos. 12 and 20 overall. Could the Cowboys and Titans execute a draft-day blockbuster that sees Borgonzi acquire two top-20 picks?

NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys emerging as ideal Titans trade-back partner

Rumors have been indicating the Cowboys possess interest in trading up into the top five for a pass rusher like David Bailey, Arvell Reese, or Rueben Bain Jr. The latest proposal comes from the Locked On Cowboys Podcast. Hosts Marcus Mosher and Marcus Landon McCool proposed a deal that sends both of Dallas' first-round picks to Tennessee in exchange for No. 4 overall.

Since becoming general manager, Borgonzi has repeatedly shared his preference to acquire additional draft capital. A first-round trade with the Cowboys would reward the Titans with an additional first rounder. The Titans could then attack two roster holes as opposed to one.

The Titans would be in prime position to select a pass rusher, wide receiver, cornerback, or offensive lineman at No. 12 and 20. Some of the prospects expected to be drafted in that range include wide receivers Omar Cooper Jr. and Makai Lemon, cornerbacks Jermod McCoy and Mansoor Delane, tight end Kenyon Sadiq, and offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, to name a few.

Borgonzi is assessing all options at No. 4 overall. Drafting a premier talent like Reese, Bailey, or Jeremiyah Love are among the possibilities. Alternatively, the Titans may hope the Cowboys get aggressive enough to offer them both of their first-round picks.
