The Tennessee Titans recently returned from the NFL Scouting Combine. The annual pre-draft event is a melting pot for both free agency and 2026 NFL Draft rumors to begin taking shape. One rumor that was whispered in several circles was the Titans' apparent infatuation with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.

Arguably the best overall prospect in the draft regardless of position value, Love was outstanding in Indianapolis. He ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash and looked terrific while running wide receiver drills. Early indications are the Titans could seriously consider him at No. 4 overall.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler recently released a post-combine two-round mock draft. Brugler's mocks usually contain a ton of information learned from the NFL Combine. His latest projection has the Titans taking Love with the fourth pick.

"Should the Titans, at this point in their roster construction, invest a premium pick at running back? Debatable," Brugler admits. "But with money to spend in free agency, Tennessee should be in a much more stable place before we get to April. Instead of getting hung up on positional value, the Titans should focus on “impact value” and what a talent like Love could do not only for the run game, but the passing game and offense overall. Head coach Robert Saleh spent the last year watching Christian McCaffrey’s impact on the San Francisco 49ers and could see similar potential in Love."

Love would definitely transform the Titans' offense. While questioning the positional value is fair, there's no denying the impact Love would have on Cam Ward's development. He'd make life easier for the sophomore quarterback.

If the Titans draft Love, they'd be foregoing an opportunity to select an EDGE rusher at No. 4. Luckily, Brugler has them landing a first-round-worthy pass rusher with the 35th pick. In the second round, the Titans nab Texas A&M EDGE Cashius Howell.

Howell is a speedy pass rusher who registered 11.5 sacks for the Aggies this past campaign, second-best in the SEC. He was super athletic at the NFL Combine, too, running a 4.59-second 40-yard dash with a position-best 1.58 ten-yard split. Howell would address the Titans' need to get faster and more dynamic at EDGE.
