The fanbase expects the Tennessee Titans to part with quarterback Will Levis this offseason. The decision to move on from Levis was essentially made when the Titans selected Cam Ward at No. 1 overall during the 2025 NFL Draft. Furthermore this offseason, the team signed a high-quality backup in Mitchell Trubisky.

Despite that, Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi and head coach Robert Saleh continue to claim Levis is competing for a future in Tennessee. It was as recently as this week's league ownership meetings that both Borgonzi and Saleh discussed Levis in a positive light. They did something similar with T'Vondre Sweat at the NFL Combine before trading him less than 48 hours later.

When it comes to the Titans' true intentions, one must read between the lines. A recent transaction indicates Levis could be nearing the end of his Titans tenure. They've signed veteran quarterback Hendon Hooker to a one-year contract, giving them four capable NFL quarterbacks.

Titans' Hendon Hooker addition could spell the end for Will Levis

The Titans could carry four quarterbacks throughout training camp. It's common practice to roster several quarterbacks on the 90-man roster to ensure all units receive quality practice time. But adding Hooker also gives the Titans enough flexibility to trade Levis, say prior to the 2026 NFL Draft is an adequate offer comes in.

Levis missed all of last season after the Titans drafted Ward at No. 1 overall. The former Kentucky standout went on season-ending IR during the summer after undergoing shoulder surgery he advocated for. Now, he's back with the Titans and slated to enter the final campaign of his four-year rookie contract.

The Titans will probably only carry quarterbacks on the final 53-man roster. You can write Ward and Trubisky in sharpie. Borgonzi and Saleh will continue saying the right things about Levis, but the perception remains that he's available for trade. That sentiment got stronger after signing Hooker.
