Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Elic Ayomanor dominated headlines at the position following his Week 2 performance. Ayomanor recorded four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-19 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams. Two of his catches were must-see television, including Cam Ward's off-script first career TD throw, and a one-handed grab he made by pinning the ball to his helmet.
The developing chemistry between Ward and Ayomanor is exciting, but fellow rookie wideout Chimere Dike deserves your attention, too. Dike has been outstanding on special teams. He currently ranks second in the NFL in kickoff return yards (227), and ninth in punt return yards (49). He'd rank first in the latter category had his would-be explosive punt return TD from his own 43-yard line not been called back due to a penalty on Cedric Gray.
Dike has registered just two receptions. The Titans have attempted to exploit his explosive-play ability by giving him three carries, which he's turned into 18 rushing yards. Moving forward, Dike has earned more opportunities on offense.
Titans rookie WR Chimere Dike deserves more reps on offense
.@Titans OC Nick Holz: Chimere Dike can do just about everything, he has a great feel for the game. Like his as a returner, runner, blocker, receiver. We don't look at him as a gadget guy, he can do it all

There's also a clear pathway to Dike receiving more snaps with Ward. Aging slot receiver Tyler Lockett has offered little-to-nothing offensively, recording two catches for nine yards in two games. Dike has experience playing the "BIG SLOT" position, and would offer the Titans significantly more speed and upside in that role than Lockett is currently providing.
Dike also needs to execute his details more efficiently. Ward was seen visibly criticising his lack of depth on a route during the Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos. It was a reminder that Dike is a potentially explosive, albeit raw, weapon.
Dike has impressed on special teams. The fourth-round playmaker has some untapped potential to continue exploring as a receiver. Ward and the Titans need to take better advantage of his playmaking upside.
