Titans fans expect struggles in 2025 but Colts fans expect pure misery

Titans fans aren't expecting 2025 to be a good year but they somehow have more confidence than Colts fans do.

The 2025 season will be a learning curve for the Tennessee Titans after a brutal 2024 season that saw them win three games and end up with the first overall pick in this year's draft. That being said, the only place for the Titans to really go after being the worst team in the league is up.

Does that mean the Titans are going to be any good this year? Probably not. What it does mean is that they'll be improved from their three wins a season ago and hopefully Cam Ward shows enough to prove that he was worthy of taking with the number one pick at the end of April.

Titans fans know what 2025 will probably look like for them and that's why, despite the fact that they won't win many games, fans are more optimistic than they were a year ago. According to The Athletic's recent Hope-O-Meter, Titans fans are 53% optimistic about the season ahead.

The funny part of this story is that Colts fans are the most pessimistic for what the 2025 season has in store, with only 7% of their fans feeling optimistic for this year and the other 93% skewing negative.

Titans fans are down bad but Colts fans are down worse for 2025

It's not hard to see why this would be the case. Yes, the Titans were the worst team in the league last year but they drafted their hopeful franchise quarterback. Meanwhile, the Colts didn't see the improvement they were hoping to from Anthony Richardson in his second season last year to the point that they crowned Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback for the 2025 season.

Considering Jones' issues while he was quarterbacking the New York Giants, it makes sense why Colts fans are struggling to get excited for the upcoming season. The Colts don't appear to have an answer to their quarterback issue either, which can't be said for the Titans now that they have Ward. As long as a team has a young franchise quarterback who is in his first or second year, there's hope for the future.

Included with the rankings are statements from fans who are either optimistic or pessimistic entering the season and for the Titans section, the included quotes were split. The optimistic fans noted that it can't be worse than it was a season ago and that Ward provides hope. The pessimistic comments center around the Titans potentially ruining another young quarterback and the A.J. Brown trade that the Titans are still paying the price for.

No one is surprised to see fans split when it comes to the Titans here. For the Colts fans section, however, it was nearly all pessimism and those all pointed to how bad it's been for the team at the quarterback position since Andrew Luck retired.

  • "Daniel Jones is our starting QB. Chris Ballard is our GM. This team has been a mess for years. I'm just excited for a reset … unfortunately, we have to wade through this quagmire of a season to get there."
  • "At this rate, they’re gonna keep putting up that Andrew Luck retirement graphic until the end of time."
  • "The team has given up on its first-round quarterback in favor of a player that offers no clear upside. The front office and coaching staff will be gone and the only hope is losing enough to have a chance at a good QB prospect paired with the right GM and head coach. So basically the three most important things in the NFL all being right in the same offseason. No big deal."

Titans fans will enjoy reading these comments because, yes, while the 2025 season is bleak for their team, at least it appears the Colts are in a much worse spot. That's always going to provide laughter for the Titans fanbase. It's fun to watch the Colts suffer in quarterback purgatory and hopefully it continues for them.
