Colts QB battle is taking a Jake Locker-type turn (and it's hilarious)

I'll take comedic gold for $500, Alec.

Tennessee Titans training camp has been a whole lot more fun, this year, than it was just 12 short months ago. Thanks to some exciting rookies, obviously including Cam Ward among others, this team has signs of life going into the future.

Speaking of Ward, the Titans' plan at quarterback has been crystal clear this offseason. Fans should be more than grateful for that, of course, because other teams cannot say the same. Namely, the Indianapolis Colts have become a punching bag when it comes to their quarterback situation.

The Colts' first unofficial depth chart shows, specifically, "Anthony Richardson OR Daniel Jones" as the starting quarterback.

Yes, it has gotten to be this funny. We now have co-preseason starters in Indy.

Anthony Richardson better be careful or he'll approach Jake Locker territory

Remember, once upon a time, when the Titans thought they had themselves a franchise quarterback in Jake Locker? Do you also remember the point in time where he was splitting reps with the aging Matt Hasselbeck?

I apologize. I won't go too much further into detail, there. Those were painful times.

But, Richardson's struggles have been well documented since being the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Between injury woes, tsporadic accuracy with some eye-popping deep balls crunched in between, a lack of true development and then last year's self benching, Richardson has had it all in his first two years.

It got so bad that the Colts thought it would be a good idea to bring in failed New York Giants franchise quarterback Daniel Jones, who has a similar and mobile skill set.

Now, Colts fans get to watch a couple of quarterbacks throw bombs down the sideline, sometimes accurate and sometimes not, with an added scamper here and there.

All of this and the Colts will still probably end up a mediocre team at best, and that's no surprise if you've been paying attention in the post-Andrew Luck era.

At least the Titans have a clear vision of where their franchise is headed and a long-term solution at quarterback (and hopefully I'm not speaking too soon). All signs point to Ward being the leader and player this team has longed for.

The Colts, meanwhile? Well, the same can't exactly be said.
