All 32 teams are assessing their 90-man offseason rosters at this point in OTAs leading up to training camp. The Tennessee Titans are especially monitoring what their rival AFC South teams are doing. Recently, the Titans surely chuckled as the Houston Texans added a former NFL Draft bust of theirs.

The Texans recently confirmed that they're signing wide receiver Jha'Quan Jackson. The former Tulane standout was the Titans' sixth-round pick during the 2024 NFL Draft. Jackson quickly washed out of Tennessee due to struggles on offense and special teams.

After his release from the Titans, Jackson spent less than a week with the New Orleans Saints' practice squad. He was more recently with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL. It's safe to assume the Titans aren't concerned with him joining their division rival Texans.

Jackson was drafted by former Titans general manager Ran Carthon. Chalk him up as another Carthon swing-and-miss in a short tenure that did long-term damage. Jackson was selected to initially provide value on special teams, but was eventually replaced as the primary special teams returner due to ball security issues and poor decision making.

Carthon was then replaced by Mike Borgonzi and he wasted precious little time. Jackson didn't even make it to his sophomore season with the Titans. The sixth-round pick was released in August of 2025 during final 53-man roster cuts.

The Titans gave rookie wideout Chimere Dike the return job instead. It proved to be a brilliant decision, as Dike was named First-Team All-Pro and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie after proving to be elite on special teams. He broke the NFL rookie record for all-purpose yards and scored two touchdowns.

The Titans enjoyed significant improvement on special teams after admitting defeat on Jackson. He'll now join the Texans and attempt to compete and revive his NFL career. The Titans won't mind if they face Jackson during the regular season.
