The Tennessee Titans ended up making eight selections during the 2026 NFL Draft. From Carnell Tate to Keldric Faulk and Anthony Hill Jr., the Titans have some high expectations for their early picks. Looking into the later rounds, there's one underrated prospect who can threaten to make waves on the depth chart.

The Titans selected former Baylor defensive tackle Jackie Marshall in the sixth round (No. 184 overall). Marshall is slightly undersized, but he's incredibly athletic. He ran the 40 yard dash in 4.88 seconds at the NFL Combine.

The Titans have totally rebuilt the defensive line in Robert Saleh's vision. The defensive tackle position has especially received reinforcements. Marshall will have an opportunity to re-order the depth chart at defensive tackle during training camp.

Jackie Marshall could go from sixth-round pick to Week 1 contributor for the Tennessee Titans

Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers will be the starters at defensive tackle for the Titans. Coach Saleh then brought in two familiar backups who should make the roster. The Titans signed Jordan Elliott in free agency, and traded for Solomon Thomas.

Both Elliott and Thomas previously played for Saleh. The Titans will likely carry at least five defensive tackles on the 53-man roster. Marshall is the in-house favorite to claim that fifth defensive spot.

Marshall should manage to compete for reps with Elliott and Thomas. Thomas was acquired for a seventh-round pick swap with the Dallas Cowboys. He's especially not guaranteed anything, and will have to earn his reps.

Marshall appeared in 12 contests for the Bears this past campaign with 10 starts. He registered 30 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and two sacks. Marshall was even better in 2024, notching 42 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and three sacks.

Marshall frequently played the three-technique position at Baylor, which indicates he could back up Simmons in Tennessee. On tape, the LaPlace, Louisiana native is twitchy and athletic while generating disruption. First-step quickness and explosion is Marshall's best trait.

Coach Saleh is excited about his defensive tackles. Simmons is a superstar, and he personally recruited Franklin-Myers, Elliott, and Thomas for the position. Marshall is an underrated rookie who might threaten to flip the depth chart there.
