The Tennessee Titans entered night two of the 2025 NFL Draft without a third-round selection as a result of last offseason's blockbuster trade for cornerback L'Jarius Sneed. It was an unfortunate situation for new general manager Mike Borgonzi, who inherited that mistake from the previous regime. On Friday, Borgonzi quickly corrected that error by trading down and recouping that third-round pick.
Titans trade down in Round 2 of 2025 NFL Draft
The Titans traded the No. 35 overall selection to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Nos. 52 and 82. The Titans willingly moved down 17 spots in order to acquire an additional top-100 selection. Prior to their agreement with the Seahawks, Tennessee wasn't slated to pick again after 35 until No. 103.

This is a win-win for the Titans and Seahawks. Borgonzi required additional selections in order to continue rebuilding a roster that landed quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall selection on Thursday. More picks mean more opportunities to accelerate the rebuild. Meanwhile, the Seahawks were flush with capital after trading Geno Smith and DK Metcalf earlier this offseason for draft picks.
The Titans will now have various opportunities to draft instant contributors. Borgonzi possesses sizable holes all over his roster, but there are especially glaring ones at EDGE rusher and wide receiver. Finding pass catchers to play alongside Ward is imperative.
That doesn't guarantee Tennessee will address receiver and outside linebacker with their upcoming two selections. The Titans have shown interest in numerous prospects at alternative positions, including defensive tackle, running back, offensive tackle, and cornerback.
As the Titans continue rebuilding a lackluster roster, additional draft capital is always helpful. Borgonzi made a shrewd move to acquire an additional pick in the third round after Ran Carthon traded it away last offseason in an aggressive move for Sneed. Borgonzi has consistently said the Titans were after more capital, and he stayed true to his word by executing a trade-down with the Seahawks.
The Titans are now scheduled to make selections at Nos. 52 and 82.
