The Tennessee Titans may have spent big in free agency to bring in names like Cor'Dale Flott and Alontae Taylor as secondary upgrades, but considering how bad this unit was last season, a name like Kenny Moore II may be needed to really complete the remaking.

Moore has requested a trade from Indianapolis after nine seasons making life hell for Titans fans. Despite their success last season, Moore, who only has one year left on his contract with a cash-strapped Colts team, is looking for a fresh start.

Moore might be an unlikely trade target for the Titans, as they would need to create some sort of way for a division rival to trade a premier player at his position for pennies on the dollar, but Mike Borgonzi has a bigger stockpile of picks in the next few upcoming NFL Drafts to play with as he tries to make something happen.

Getting Moore, which is possible due to his connections with some members of the current coaching staff, might be a more prudent move for this defense than using a pick on a player in the Draft on someone who is not as pro-ready.

Titans may need to acquire Colts CB Kenny Moore II after trade request

Moore has become one of the premier slot cornerbacks in football, and while there is some concern about how well his game is going to age, everything else about his game suggests that he could be a tremendous player for a Titans defense he is quite familiar with.

Moore would likely force Flott and Taylor to the outside, which may not be the best use of two players that cost a ton of money to bring in. However, they have both played on the outside with aplomb before, and Moore is the type of talent that is worth shifting some pieces around on the defensive side for.

Some of Moore's best years in Indianapolis came under defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who is now in the same role with Tennessee. Looking at the success of names like Deommodore Lenoir and Michael Carter II in the past, Robert Saleh has been a keen identifier of nickel cornerback talent.

Just a few months after going all-in by trading multiple first-round picks for Sauce Gardner, Indianapolis is ready to break up its cornerback room, while the Titans may stand to benefit if they give their hated rival an offer they can't refuse.
