The Tennessee Titans are off to a hot start in free agency and just snagged another former New York Giants player to join their squad for the 2026 season. Cor'Dale Flott signed with the Titans on a three-year deal worth $45 million in a move that helps shore up the secondary.

Flott was drafted by the Giants in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of LSU and was their best cornerback on the roster last year. According to reports, it sounds as though Flott was supposed to end up back with the Giants this year but last minute, he decided to call an audible and sign with the Titans instead.

That report came from Connor Hughes of SNY, who posted on X:

"Sources: Cor'Dale Flott was set to return to the #Giants. It was as done of a deal as you can get without pen-to-paper.
As last-second attempt to get him to change his mind, the #Titans put forth their entire plan for how Robert Saleh planned to use him, and what they believed he could accomplish in this defense.
That was difference.
Flott doesn't return to the #Giants. He instead heads to Nashville with teammates Wan'Dale Robinson & Daniel Bellinger."

Titans steal Cor'Dale Flott away from Giants before the final whistle

Clearly, Robert Saleh got to Flott and convinced him that Nashville was the right place for him to be moving forward. It also probably doesn't hurt that Flott played with Brian Daboll in New York and even though Daboll was an offensive guy and Flott plays defense, that relationship might have factored in here.

Not only did the Titans land Flott but they also added former Saints cornerback Alontae Taylor to their secondary as well. Saleh will have plenty to work with on defense in his first year as the Titans head coach and hopefully, this unit can get back to terrorizing offenses.

Back to Flott, he finished the 2025 season with an overall PFF grade of 65.6 and a coverage grade of 68.1, both pretty solid. The fact that Saleh was able to convince him to come to Tennessee and not return to New York shows that they had one hell of a pitch for him and now, fingers crossed that he makes a difference for this team.
