The Tennessee Titans are 0-4 for a second consecutive season. As GM Mike Borgonzi continues rebuilding this young roster, he'll almost certainly be a seller at this year's trade deadline. Veteran running back Tony Pollard is an experienced player expected to draw interest around the league.
Pollard is currently on track for 939 rushing yards. If he can slightly improve his per-game production, he'll flirt with producing his fifth straight 1,000-yard season. With Pollard on an expiring contract, Borgonzi should absolutely have interest in acquiring a draft pick for his services.
Pollard's name is already floating in rumors. Trading him would allow the Titans an opportunity to evaluate rookie Nicholas Singleton. The NFL trade deadline is approximately one month away (Nov. 10). We've identified three potential fits for Pollard via trade.
3 potential fits for Titans RB Tony Pollard as trade deadline approaches
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers desperately miss Josh Jacobs, who is serving a suspension due to an alleged off-field situation. They are currently averaging a 32nd-ranked 58.0 rushing yards per game. That is more than 15 yards less per game than the next-worst rushing offense. MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson have come nowhere near filling Jacobs' shoes. The 2-2 Packers are playoff contenders in the competitive NFC North, and acquiring Pollard would benefit Jordan Love and the offense.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have been playing musical chairs at running back this season. Rookie 32nd overall pick Jadarian Price is on IR, but lost two fumbles in back-to-back games before getting injured. Zach Charbonnet is prepping to return from last year's torn ACL, but who knows what juice and explosiveness he has left. GM John Schneider almost signed veteran Joe Mixon, but he failed a physical. Letting Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III leave in free agency has developed into a critical mistake. Pollard could get this Seahawks backfield on track.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are all-in on having postseason success this year, because quarterback Aaron Rodgers is playing out his final season before retirement. They are 2-2 in a strong AFC North division. The rushing attack currently ranks 22nd and isn't productive enough to lend Rodgers the helping hand he needs. The backfield is a little crowded with Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle, but Pollard is a strong fit in Mike McCarthy's scheme. GM Omar Khan should be a little aggressive given his quarterback situation.
