Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is a four-time Pro Bowler and a three-time All-Pro, a First-Team debut in 2025. Simmons is undoubtedly one of the best defenders in the NFL, and any team that plays him either gives him extra attention or pays the price for not doing so.
With a decorated resume like that, you can imagine the reaction from Titans fans and people who actually watch football when Simmons was ranked as the 83rd best player in the NFL in their annual Top 100 rankings list.
This list has always been flawed, and it has become more of a joke in recent years, with most people complaining about the fact that players seem to vote nearly exclusively for their teammates. Simmons landing at No. 83 is beyond disrespectful, and he didn't react kindly to the news.
Titans DT Jeffery Simmons posts a one-emoji reaction to NFL Top 100 disrespect
People have registered complaints about where Simmons is ranked on the list since his name was announced. Simmons was initially silent about his placement. While he usually reserves most of his trash talk for the field, it seemed like a response was inevitable considering the incredible disrespect.
Low and behold, the star defender had a short but clear message for the rest of the league late Thursday afternoon.

In 2025, Simmons had a career year despite having no help on the defensive line. Heading into 2026, the Titans have added one of the smartest defensive minds in the NFL as their new head coach, hired one of the best defensive line coaches in the league, and made numerous moves to help support Simmons on the line, including signing one of the handful of defensive linemen who is almost as dominant as he is in John Franklin-Myers.
With all of those upgrades and a new energy around this franchise as they prepare to move to their new stadium in 2027 and to host a Super Bowl in 2030, this feels like the wrong time for the NFL to disrespect Simmons. However, Titans fans should be thrilled about this because it is just another chip on the shoulder of one of the most dominant and relentless defenders in the NFL.
