While John Harbaugh and the New York Giants still have yet to make it official, he is pretty much the first domino of this head coaching carousel that is happening in the NFL. There are a ton of openings and the Tennessee Titans are one of them.
While getting Harbaugh would have been the immediate splash, the Titans needed to focus on the long term vision of the team. Someone who can help build a team around a franchise quarterback. Who knows if Harbaugh would have been the right fit.
There are plenty of solid options for the Titans, including Kevin Stefanski who is scheduled to interview with the Titans again after going through the first round with them. However, according to a report from Adam Schefter, the Titans are now in a position to potentially lose out on Stefanski.
Report: Falcons may prevent Titans from getting their 2nd HC interview with Kevin Stefanski
Schefter reported that the Atlanta Falcons are also interviewing Stefanski for their second round, but that they moved it up ahead of his scheduled interview with Tennessee. Originally, Stefanski was ready to interview with the Titans first, but now the Falcons will get their chance to prevent him from even meeting with the Titans again.
Atlanta was calculating in arranging this interview, moving it up ahead of Kevin Stefanski’s scheduled interview Sunday with the Titans. Atlanta now gets the next, and potentially pivotal, meeting with Stefanski. https://t.co/M8s9u8L3MI

The fact that Atlanta was able to get Stefanski scheduled ahead of talking to the Titans is a bit concerning. While the Falcons are a bit of a mess after clearing house, they have immediate playmakers that Teneessee is currently lacking.
Stefanski is a great coach. He was just in a terrible situation in Cleveland and was never given stability at quarterback. In Tennessee, Stefanski would get that with Ward. However, depending on his approach with the roster, that could go in favor of the Falcons and Atlanta could make their first impressions great enough to get Stefanski to seriously consider going down to Georgia.
Now is the time where teams are going to start really kicking the tires on their top candidates, and the Titans may have to move fast to secure a solid head coach moving forward.
