The NFL released the complete 2025 season schedule on Wednesday evening via a coordinated televised event. The Tennessee Titans are coming off a disappointing league-worst 3-14 season. As a result, the Titans weren't awarded any primetime games, being one of three teams on the receiving end of a league-initiated insult.

Titans fans were hoping that drafting quarterback Cam Ward at No. 1 overall would be enough to land the organization a few showings in primetime. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The league takes recent success and market size into account when determining primetime matchups. Both of those facts worked against the Titans when determining the contests placed in front of a national audience.

The Titans got none.

Titans awarded zero primetime games in 2025

The Titans were awarded just one primetime game last season. Ironically enough, it was one of Tennessee's three wins, a 31-12 triumph over a banged-up Miami Dolphins squad at Hard Rock Stadium on Monday Night Football in Week 4. It was an uneventful affair despite the lobsided score line, with the Titans' offense attempting just 21 passes versus 40 rushing attempts.

Ward and the Titans will begin their regular-season campaign against the Denver Broncos on the road in Week 1. That contest is slated for the late afternoon window, potentially leading to a larger viewing audience than usual. Brian Callahan's new-look offensive line will have its hands full with a Broncos defense that led the NFL in sacks in 2024.

The Titans will return to Nashville for their home opener against Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams at Nissan Stadium in Week 2.

Titans fans often feel disrespected by the lack of national attention. In this case, the Titans failed to earn primetime opportunities by being abysmal throughout 2024, and drafting Ward wasn't enough to convince the league otherwise. If they want more primetime games in 2026, they'll need to command respect by proving they're a much-improved team.
