The 1-4 Tennessee Titans should consider shopping veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins before the early November trade deadline comes and goes. In fact, it may be considered malpractice to not make a deal if the Titans receive a reasonable offer.

Alternative reports are suggesting the Titan aren't actively trying to shop Hopkins, but another NFL insider recently suggested that the asking price has been set by other recent trades involving receivers around the league,

Titans general manager Ran Carthon could spend the next two weeks searching for an appropriate trade partner. Lucky for Carthon, it's been a seller's market so far, with two receivers in their 30s getting traded for third-round draft picks (Davante Adams and Amari Cooper) earlier this week.

Demand is currently outpacing supply when it comes to pass-catchers, and each time a trade happens involving an Adams or Cooper, Hopkins becomes even more enticing to prospective buyers.

NFL insider Dianna Russini announced on Thursday that at least three teams were actively looking to make a move.

The Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New Orleans Saints were all named as teams interested in acquiring Mike Williams, an aging receiver with a much lower ceiling than Hopkins.

While Hopkins isn't directly mentioned, it stands to reason that he is someone those teams would be calling about as well. After all, Hopkins has outperformed Williams in six out of the last eight years, including the previous two seasons.

Hopkins has been outstanding in his short time with the Titans, and perhaps Carthon is alternatively interested in signing him to an extension after the season to ensure next year's starting quarterback has proven weapons in the passing game.

However, Hopkins is an aging asset on an expiring contract, and the Titans appear headed for another offseason of rebuilding the offense. Acquiring draft picks for players like Hopkins could help accelerate that timeline. With the Titans likely being active in free agency, they're not going to recoup a compensatory pick for him either.

If the Titans don't receive a reasonable trade offer for Hopkins, perhaps they should pivot to working on a short-term extension, if they believe it's one that will age well. However, if they plan on letting Hopkins walk, keep an eye on the Chargers, Steelers, and Saints as potential landing spots over the next few weeks.

All three teams have at least seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, but the Steelers have eight, including two in the fifth round. The Chargers have 10 picks, including four in the sixth round. Either team could put together a tempting offer for Hopkins.
