Speculation has been running rampant regarding what the Tennessee Titans plan to do with the No. 4 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. It feels like the majority of the fanbase wants the team to select Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. Others believe the Titans need to go the "premium position" route, hoping an EDGE rusher like David Bailey or Arvell Reese will slide.

Borgonzi recently held his annual pre-draft press conference with local media. In typical Borgonzi fashion, he sounded willing to keep all options available to the Titans. The Titans are open to drafting a good prospect at No. 4 (wow!). They're also listening to trade-back offers, meaning they are truly assessing all avenues.

Borgonzi did make one statement in particular that qualified as intriguing. If Borgonzi was being candid, the Titans sound legitimately open to selecting Love at No. 4 overall. That's precisely what Titans fans wanted to hear.

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi sounds open to selecting Jeremiyah Love in NFL Draft

"I certainly think there's a cluster of players up there that we really like," Borgonzi said. "In particular, Jeremiyah, I think he is a special player. Who is going to have the most impact? Who is the best player available?"

If Borgonzi is truly willing to take a best-player approach at No. 4 overall, it's difficult to envision many scenarios where Love isn't the best prospect availabl. The 2025 Heisman Trophy candidate is often the top-ranked (or second-best) prospect on most mainstream draft boards. That's notable, when weighing Borgonzi's words.

Most analysts expect pass rushers David Bailey and Arvell Reese to be drafted at Nos. 2 and 3 overall by the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals. If the top three draft selections play out the way everyone is expecting, then Love will be the consensus best prospect available. Will Borgonzi stay true to his word?

The Titans are likely having the internal debate. Can they draft Love, a quote-on-quote devalued running back position at No. 4 overall? Borgonzi appears to be seriously considering the best-player available approach.
