It's painfully clear these 2 Titans won't be back after 2025 NFL Draft

The Tennessee Titans, who are just a few days away from selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, may need to swing a few trades in order to clear up some roster logjams that are still impacting the roster.

The Titans, led by new GM Mike Borgonzi, will not only use the top pick to select Ward as a replacement for former second-round choice Will Levis, but it seems more likely than not that they will use one of their better picks on a wide receiver that can knock Treylon Burks out of the lineup.

Borgonzi is not going to operate with any misplaced sense of loyalty to players that were drafted by fired executives like Jon Robinson and Ran Carthon. Some holdovers from past regimes could see their Titans tenures brought to an unceremonious end.

Schefter listed both Levis and Burks as players on rookie contracts who are "expendable" and could end up being traded during the 2025 NFL Draft. With how desperate teams can get during the draft, the Titans might be able to maximize their value here.

Burks might actually be the easier of the two to trade. While he has been an incredible disappointment who has caught just 20 passes over the last two seasons, it's not unreasonable for a team to talk themselves into trading a late Day 3 pick for him and banking on their offensive scheme to get the most out of him.

Levis has a big arm and playmaking skills out of structure, but his style of play is so high variance that he is unlikely to earn a starting job this season. Anyone who trades for him should do so with the thought that he will be locked in as a high-end backup with some room to grow.

Schefter also hinted that Tennessee is looking to trade down on Day 2, as the L'Jarius Sneed move robbed them of a third-round pick this year. With Ward a lock to go No. 1 overall, Tennessee could both address their lackluster pass rush and land a Burks replacement at wide receiver if they pull this move off.

The Titans weren't able to do much of anything in the last half-decade, which is why Borgonzi's first order of business should be tearing this roster down to the studs. Doing so by trading Levis and Burks could help Ward instantly come to town and assert himself as this franchise's newest face.
