Shocker!

It will be a weird sight seeing Harold Landry in an NFL uniform that isn't the Tennessee Titans but that's the timeline we're living in right now. Landry was released by the Titans this offseason and, to the suprise of absolutely no one, signed with the New England Patriots.

The reason this isn't a surprise is because Mike Vrabel is now the head coach of the Patriots. Landry said that Vrabel is the reason he wanted to sign with New England, noting that the former head coach of the Titans did "a great job of putting me in positions to go out and be productive.”

Landry and Vrabel arrived in Nashville at the same time, as Vrabel was hired in the 2018 offseason and Landry was the Titans' second-round pick that same year. Landry had some productive years under Vrabel's tutelage so it makes sense that he'd want to reunite with the coach who he felt got the best out of him.

Harold Landry's reasoning for signing with Patriots is not a surprise at all

Landry went on to praise Vrabel, going as far as saying that "there was never a situation [he] wasn't prepared for" while playing under Vrabel in Tennessee.

“Like, I don’t care what the score was in the fourth quarter. I don’t know. We just always had a feeling that we was going to pull this out. Didn’t matter what the score was going into the fourth and we just always found a way to win. It’s crazy. We just found a way to win. And that was just kind of the mentality. We just didn’t think we could lose, to be honest, no matter what."

Titans fans will have to get used to seeing Landry in a different jersey this year but seeing him and Vrabel thrive together won't take getting used to. They did that for years in Nashville and while Titans fans are bummed that Landry moved on, him landing with Vrabel in New England made too much sense.
