Early 3-Round 2025 mock draft has Titans dangerously close to replacing Will Levis
By Ryan Heckman
Well, we are 10 weeks into the season and the Tennessee Titans are right in the middle of the conversation for obtaining the no. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. It's become a real possibility, sitting at 2-7 in a league with five other 2-win teams.
Right now, Tennessee would have the no. 3 overall pick if the draft began today. It's still too early to know just who will go no. 1 overall in this draft, but there are some candidates likely to go in the top five.
Would the Titans consider drafting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders if they had the chance? That's going to be a question that's asked from now until draft day, assuming the Titans are close to being in position to do so.
What happens with Will Levis if he continues to struggle in Year 2? Do the Titans give him another season to try and figure it out? Fans are going to get real impatient if he doesn't make strides over the second half of the season.
For the sake of giving Titans fans hope for the future and something to think about, let's dive into an early 2025 NFL mock draft, but we'll keep it at just three rounds for right now. And, Tennessee will, indeed, make Levis a bit uncomfortable here.
Will Levis would be worried if this 2025 Titans mock draft came to fruition
To kick it off, the Titans have an opportunity to land arguably the draft's best pass rusher in Abdul Carter with the third overall pick. If they have that chance, it's going to be difficult to refuse. Carter is a plug-and-play guy in an absolutely loaded defensive class and would make this unit even scarier.
The Titans defense began the season in promising fashion, but the problem has been the fact that the offense hasn't held up their end of the bargain. Assuming Tennessee builds that side of the ball up through free agency and the draft, as well, this pick is a no-brainer. Carter is a stud and has "future All Pro" written all over him.
More Titans news:
The Titans don't have a pick in the third round this next year, but with an opportunity arising out of Denver, they have the chance to move back and gain an additional pick.
Now is where Levis should start feeling nervous.
With their second-round pick at no. 51 overall, now, the Titans go with one of the most confident and borderline-arrogant players in the draft -- and that's a good thing. LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is a player that can make every throw needed at the NFL level, and he's willing to risk it on many occasions.
You could say there are some Brett Favre vibes, here. He'll take those chances and make tight-window throws, and a lot of the times, those chances pay off. Sometimes, you could argue those chances lead to Nussmeier making the wrong throw, but as he grows and develops, he can learn to discern better.
Levis still has the job, for now. But, with the Nussmeier pick, his seat should start to feel real warm.
The left side of the offensive line is taken care of for the foreseeable future with JC Latham. But, the right side remains an issue. Because of that, the Titans use this acquired third rounder to select Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr.
In the Titans' current scheme and with their personnel, Conerly fits best as a right tackle because he lacks a little bit of size. He isn't small by any means, standing 6-foot-4, 315 pounds. He's a great athlete but could afford to put on some more mass, leading to improved play strength.
This is a great shot to take in the third round for Tennessee, with a guy who could very well end up being a starter in Year 1.
