2025 NFL Draft prospect fits for the Tennessee Titans
With the Tennessee Titans record currently sitting at 2-6 entering Week 10 of the NFL season, many have already begun looking for ways to improve the roster. The current team is filled with holes on both sides of the ball and will likely see significant turnover again this offseason.
While the 2024 campaign has been a disappointment for fans, the team is currently set to have several high selections in the upcoming NFL draft and has continued to add to that haul in recent weeks. We'll take a look at some talented prospects that could be good scheme fits for the Titans at positions of need.
Will Campbell, OT, Louisiana State
Offensive tackle Will Campbell is widely seen as a top 10 prospect in the upcoming draft class. The Louisiana native stayed in-state for college and is in his third year being the primary starter for the Louisiana State University Tigers. Campbell is coming off First-Team All-SEC honors as a sophomore and Second-Team All-SEC honors as a Freshman.
What makes the LSU tackle so intriguing is his blend of size and athleticism. Campbell is listed at 6-foot-6 and 323 pounds, but has the quickness and twitch to get to the second level in the run game while also standing his ground in pass protection. Dane Brugler of The Athletic said of the young tackle, "He plays with foot quickness and hip/joint flexibility to match up with explosive pass rushers".
The Titans have a massive need at right tackle, having played five different players at the position over the past few weeks. After selecting offensive tackle JC Latham in the 2024 NFL Draft, the team could choose to go a similar route as the Steelers did this past year by selecting an offensive tackle in the first round for the second straight season (Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu).
Campbell would be a day one starter for a team that desperate needs a solution at the position. The Titans could have the opportunity to select the offensive tackle in the first round or in a potential trade down situation if the team continues their current pace.
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Emeka Egbuka is next up in the long line of talented pass catchers to come out of Ohio State in recent seasons. The senior has been an elite playmaker out of the slot and currently leads the team in receptions. The Washington native is an excellent route runner that excels in the middle of the field while creating yards after the catch.
Egbuka would be an ideal replacement for veteran Tyler Boyd, who is an unrestricted free agent after this season. The Titans desperately need playmakers on the offensive side of the ball and have very few players who can create after the catch. Egbuka has also been a dynamic kick returner, averaging over 30 yards per return this season.
The Ohio State wide receiver could be on the board early in the second round based on projections, and would bring a new element to the offense out of the slot as well as dynamic return abilities to a putrid special teams unit. This team needs more weapons after the recent trade of Deandre Hopkins and Egbuka could be the perfect solution.
Josaiah Stewart, EDGE, Michigan
A year after winning a national championship, Josaiah Stewart has taken his game to another level this season. The pass rusher leads the Wolverines in sacks (6.5) by using an explosive burst off the line of scrimmage and elite speed off the edge. Stewart has several pass-rush moves that when combined with his speed, should translate to success at the NFL level.
The Titans' thin edge group needs a boost as the team lacks depth behind Harold Landry III and Arden Key. Stewart could come in and push former teammate Jaylen Harrell while potentially developing into a starter.
Stewart struggles against the run and his smaller frame could allow him to fall to Day 3 of the NFL Draft, where the Titans currently have multiple selections in Rounds 4 and 5. The Michigan edge defender could be an immediate contributor on third down and provide much needed juice to a team that struggles to sack opposing quarterbacks.
Clay Webb, OG, Jacksonville State
Clay Webb is a former Georgia recruit that later transferred to Jacksonville State and became an All-Conference player in Conference USA. The Alabama native has shown excellent technique in pass protection, paired with the mobility needed to reach the second level in the run game, both things the Titans have prioritized in guards under the current regime.
The Titans' guard situation is thin after this season with Dillon Radunz, Daniel Brunskill, and Andrew Rupcich all set to hit free agency. The Titans could look to bring back one of their impending free agents, or bring in a new vet to pair with a rookie draft pick to battle for the starting position.
Webb is undersized and can struggle with larger defensive tackles, which should push him to Day 3 of the NFL Draft. The Jacksonville State guard could be a perfect player to compete against a veteran and provide cheap depth at the position.
