Cam Ward will get rookie luxury Shedeur Sanders could only dream of

Tennessee Titans fans would be lying if they said they weren't annoyed that Cam Ward, their hopeful franchise quarterback and the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, didn't get much attention during this year's event. Instead, the attention went to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who slid from being potentially the second overall pick all the way to the fifth round.

Sanders might have commanded all of the attention in the draft but hopefully, Ward will have the last laugh. Not only is Ward entering a better situation but he'll be the unquestioned starting quarterback in Tennessee while Sanders will have to battle with three other guys on the roster in Cleveland.

To make matters even better, while Sanders is fighting it out with the likes of Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett with no mentor to help him, Ward will have one of the best tutors imaginable helping him in Nashville. Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon told Kay Adams that he plans to be involved with Ward's development.

"I'm going to be a lot more involved than you think. I'll just put it that way," Moon said on The Up & Adams Show. "I will have my little fingers in a lot of different things going on."

It sure sounds like Cam Ward will have Warren Moon as a mentor

Again, this is great news for Ward and what's hopefully the beginning of a very long career as a member of the Tennessee Titans but it's even funnier that Sanders, who stole all of the draft coverage, won't have the same luxury. While Sanders could earn the starting job in Cleveland, he has to battle it out with three other quarterbacks and, while it probably doesn't happen, could be left off the roster altogether.

That's not something Ward has to think of. As the number one pick, he'll be the starter in Tennessee (unless something unforeseen takes place) and it sounds as though Moon will be right beside him to give him pointers and help develop him into a great pro quarterback.

Titans fans probably won't care what happens with Sanders in Cleveland as long as Ward pans out and becomes the franchise quarterback this organization thinks he can be. For now though, it's hard not to chuckle at the situations both guys face as they enter their professional careers.
