The Tennessee Titans made the no-brainer decision to release L'Jarius Sneed earlier this offseason. Trading a 2025 third-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Sneed and immediately signing him to a $76 million extension goes down as one of the worst acquisition-related decisions in Titans history.
Unsurprisingly, Sneed rejoined the Chiefs following his release from the Titans. Reuniting with Andy Reid and the franchise he won two Super Bowls with was always his desired outcome. Sneed will now compete for playing time in a revamped Chiefs secondary that lost starting cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.
Reid recently provided an update on Sneed Titans fans won't be fond of. The Chiefs believe Sneed is fully capable of recapturing his previous form. That would deliver quite the gut-punch to Tennessee.

"Arguably one of the best corners in the league when he left here, and now that he's back healthy and going, I mean, I'd tell ya, he's playing like that right now," Reid said at a recent press conference when asked about Sneed.
Injuries totally plagued Sneed's nightmarish two-year stint with the Titans. The former Louisiana Tech standout suffered a quad injury in Week 6 of his debut 2024 campaign. Sneed ultimately landed on season-ending IR.
Somehow, Sneed's quad injury ended up impacting his 2025 season as well. The once-shutdown cornerback only appeared in seven contests with the Titans this past campaign. Add chronic knee issues and an alleged off-field situation to the mix, and Sneed's tenure in Tennessee was truly a colossal failure.
Sneed played in just 12 combined games in two seasons with the Titans. Injuries negatively impacted his on-field performance even when he was available. He failed to record a single interception, and only notched three pass breakups in Tennessee.
The Titans saved $11.4 million in cap space by releasing Sneed. General manager Mike Borgonzi used that money to revamp the cornerback room, signing Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott in free agency this summer to be the new starters.
If Sneed truly reverts back to his shutdown self, that would be extremely frustrating for a Titans franchise that came nowhere near to receiving his best. Tennessee rightfully released Sneed, but it would be annoying to watch him so quickly reverse course. Titans fans will be loosely monitoring his 2026 progress.
