The winless Tennessee Titans (0-3) will be massive underdogs versus Derrick Henry the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. With each passing defeat, the Titans come closer to playing for 2027 NFL Draft positioning in another wasted season. General manager Mike Borgonzi could consider a full-blown youth movement.
The Titans are an extremely young football team. Several rookies and sophomores are in starting positions. Nonetheless, some struggling veterans are still earning reps over younger counterparts.
We've identified three Titans veterans who are struggling. If the 2026 campaign continues trending in this direction, they should be replaced (even traded?) by younger talents with higher ceilings. The following three especially stand out heading into the Ravens contest.
3 Titans players on thin ice in Week 4 vs. Ravens
WR Calvin Ridley
The Titans offense just hasn't gotten veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley involved enough. After restructuring his contract to keep him around this offseason, he has two receptions for 35 yards in three games. It's not entirely Ridley's fault. He's creating separation, but the offense isn't sustaining drives or creating enough explosive plays.
Carnell Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson are the Titans' top two receivers. Ridley played a season-low 20 snaps in Week 3 despite the Titans being in a trailing position. Meanwhile Elic Ayomanor played a season-high 50 snaps. Ayomanor has earned more opportunities, and they are coming at Ridley's expense.
LB Cody Barton
The Titans have young studs at linebacker in Anthony Hill Jr. and Cedric Gray. How athletic and flexible they are only make veteran linebacker Cody Barton look worse. The 29-year-old Barton has clearly lost a step, and it's obvious every time he has to defend laterally.
Barton currently ranks seventh on the Titans in tackles. That's despite playing 81.16% of defensive snaps. This defense needs more Gray, Hill, and even James Williams Sr. at linebacker, and less Barton.
DE Jermaine Johnson II
Among the Titans' five pass rushers with qualifying grades on Pro Football Focus, veteran defensive end Jermaine Johnson II has the worst score (45.5). He's totaled a position-high nine pressures, but has zero sacks. Johnson's WIN% of 3.0 is also a team-low mark.
Johnson has been a total liability as a pass rusher. Meanwhile rookie defensive end Keldric Faulk got his first career sack in Week 3. Sophomore defensive end Femi Oladejo has also shown more flashes. If this continues, Johnson should start losing more snaps to Faulk and Oladejo.
