The 1-4 Tennessee Titans should consider selling aging assets in exchange for draft picks ahead of the NFL trade deadline (November 5). While much of that focus is understandably centered around five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Titans have other players on expiring contracts that could garner interest. Starting kicker Nick Folk immediately comes to mind.

Folk has been outstanding for the Titans throughout this season. The former Pro Bowler is the reason why Tennessee is one of five teams that have converted 100% of their field goal attempts entering Week 6. It's been the continuation of a strong 2023 campaign, where Folk nailed 29-of-30 kicks, producing a league-high 96.7 percent success rate.

Kicker trades aren't overly common, but it's worth acknowledging the Titans acquired Folk in a trade in the first place. There are also several postseason contenders currently dealing with issues at kicker. We've identified three potential landing spots.

Green Bay Packers

The Titans had a decision to make in training camp when they chose to retain Folk ahead of Brayden Narveson, a rookie undrafted free agent who impressed during the preseason. The Green Bay Packers claimed Narveson off waivers following his release. The Titans clearly made the right decision.

The Packers recently released Narveson after he converted just 12-of-17 attempts. General manager Brian Gutekunst recently signed Brandon McManus to the practice squad as a replacement. If McManus struggles over the next few weeks, the Packers will have to consider getting creative. Folk would be a much better short-term solution.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers used a third-round draft selection on Jake Moody last season. Though Moody struggled as a rookie in 2023, he's been significantly better as a sophomore. The former Michigan standout has made 13-of-14 kicks this year, but is currently nursing a high-ankle sprain that is sidelining him for a sizable chunk of the regular season.

The 49ers signed veteran journeyman Matthew Wright as a fill-in. If Moody suffers a setback, or is expected to remain sidelined towards the conclusion of the season, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch will need to continue acquiring a more reliable option than Wright. Folk has been automatic this season.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass is working through some struggles. Bass is 9-of-12 this season with two misses in Buffalo's latest three contests. General manager Brandon Beane is officially concerned, because he signed another kicker, Lucas Havrisik, to the practice squad earlier this week.

The Bills recently acquired veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper via blockbuster trade. They're operating like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. If Beane decides he needs an aggressive solution to address the kicker spot, trading for Folk would ensure the kicking game doesn't cost them in the playoffs.
