The Tennessee Titans kick off their 2021 regular season against the Arizona Cardinals and while the Titans are favored in their season opener (by three points, per WynnBet), that’s a small line. You can best believe the Cardinals are going to bring everything they have.

Considering how stacked the NFC West is, they’ll be desperate to earn a win as they’ll no doubt be paying attention to what their divisional rivals are doing all season.

Don’t be shocked if the Cardinals knock off the Tennessee Titans.

Mike Phillips of FanSided believes that there are three teams who should be on upset alert this weekend and, unfortunately, the Titans are on that list. Phillips believes one of the reasons why is because their secondary is one of their biggest weaknesses and Arizona has the tools to exploit that weakness.

Kyler Murray is entering year three of his NFL career and he’s hoping the third time is a charm for him and his Cardinals teammates as he’s attempting to lead his team to the playoffs for the first time. A win over Tennessee would put him on a great path in doing just that.

Phillips also discusses how the Titans have had their fair share of problems as far as COVID-19 is concerned. This was an issue for the Titans last year as well but the stakes are a lot higher this year if teams can’t stay off the COVID list with the ultimate cost resulting in a forfeit.

While the Titans are the home team and the better team, the Cardinals are no slouch, and getting off to an early lead in the division is crucial for them. The Titans are in a much easier division so a loss here wouldn’t derail their season but no one wants to lose, especially not in Week 1 when the excitement is higher than ever.

If the secondary can play better than anticipated, the Titans should win this game but if it’s another repeat of last year, this could be quite the high-scoring affair in the confines of Nissan Stadium.
