. . . Jeremy McNichols, running back. 28. player. 35

Tennessee Titans RB Jeremy McNichols could be a camp casualty.

The Tennessee Titans currently have five running backs on the training camp roster: Jeremy McNichols, Darrynton Evans, Derrick Henry, Brian Hill, and Mekhi Sargent. They have two fullbacks on the roster (Tory Carter and Khari Blasingame). One theory is they could carry five running backs. A better theory is they’d probably keep four.

If the latter option is the one that’s accurate, which is a safe assumption, we have to assume Derrick Henry, Darrynton Evans, and Khari Blasingame are on the roster right? On top of that, most would probably place Brian Hill ahead of Carter, Sargent, and McNichols right?

Jeremy McNichols was a fifth-round draft choice in 2017. He’s been on seven NFL rosters since then, and this is actually his second stint with the Tennessee Titans. The first came in 2018. He’s appeared in 17 games with no starts. He’s racked up 208 yards on 48 carries and 55 yards on 12 receptions. That includes a one-carry and four-yard contribution to the Titans cause during last year’s playoff loss.

Your heart goes out to this guy because he’s worked so hard and he may be running out of chances, but at this point, you have to ask yourself if there’s any room on the 2021 roster for him. The easy answer might be no.
