Tennessee Titans Rookies With Most to Prove – No. 2: Dez Fitzpatrick

I mentioned earlier how the Titans lost three of their top offensive weapons this offseason. Corey Davis signed with the Jets, Adam Humphries headed to Washington, and Jonnu Smith linked up with the Patriots. That leaves the Titans with A.J Brown and newly-signed wide receiver Josh Reynolds as their two main threats.

Tennessee decided to wait until Day 3 of the draft to address the wide receiver position and selected Dez Fitzpatrick out of Louisville. While Fitzpatrick is talented, many were surprised that the Titans took him this early and felt it was a reach.

This is why Fitzpatrick will be out to prove the naysayers wrong. Not only is he wanting to prove he was worthy of a fourth-round selection but he’s also going to be battling with Reynolds for that No. 2 wide receiver spot.

Fitzpatrick had 43 receptions last season for 833 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback play was definitely a factor in his numbers dropping throughout his college career. His freshman year saw him record a career-high in touchdown passes with nine (he had Lamar Jackson as his quarterback), proving that he can be a red-zone weapon.
