Here’s a well-known fact about the Tennessee Titans GM.

Ever since Jon Robinson blessed us all with his presence and infinite wisdom in 2016, the Tennessee Titans have made six first-round draft picks with him serving as general manager, ranging from an offensive tackle who was an All-Pro after just one season, to an offensive tackle who was out of the league after just one season.

Patterns begin to emerge when breaking down Robinson’s Day 1 picks though. Using the power of science, we can start to pick up on trends that could lead us to who Tennessee will select in the first round. Perhaps more noticeable than all else, Robinson loves players from big-name college programs.

Of Robinson’s six first-round picks, five of them have come from Power Five conferences, with the lone exception being Western Michigan’s Corey Davis in 2017. As a matter of fact, if you expand the search to include picks in the first two rounds, 11 of Robinson’s 12 picks from rounds one and two were from Power 5 colleges, again, with Davis being the exception to the rule.
