Maybe you haven’t noticed, but the Tennessee Titans need a safety.

Tennessee signed Maurice Smith to a futures contract in February. They released Kenny Vaccaro a little over a month later. Currently, they have Matthias Farley on the roster. Does anyone else feel like they need to find some safety help? No one would blame you for thinking that way because they absolutely do. Enter Talanoa Hufanga of the USC Trojans. He could, very well, be the guy that this Titans squad is looking for.

Hufanga is everything NFL fans want their safeties to be. He’s passionate (and a little crazy). He’s big (try six-foot-one and 215 pounds on for size). He’s a sure tackler and a playmaker.

In 24 games at the collegiate level, this young man tallied 203 tackles, including 16.5 for a loss, and that was from the safety position. Add that to 6.5 career sacks, four interceptions, eight pass breakups, and four forced fumbles.

Trojans fans will most certainly miss him. He’s going to have a long and very successful career as one of the game’s best safeties for a long time. Might the Titans be taking note?
