7. Desmond King, SCB

This is just a placeholder right now because we don’t have anything to go on. However, if the Titans get a season on pace with what he was already doing in L.A. this year or what he did before this season, then he might rocket up to the top-3.

Desmond King is not going to replace Johnathan Joseph because they play two different positions. However, his impact on this team could have a ripple effect that makes that position better for the next five years. Let me explain.

Right now the Titans have switched to match coverage in the secondary which means they are having cornerbacks shadow certain receivers. For example, Malcolm Butler has shadowed A.J. Green and Chase Claypool in back to back weeks.

That means that the CB depth chart is really this:

CB1: Malcolm Butler

CB2: Adoree Jackson, Tye Smith, Kareem Orr

Slot CB: Desmond King, Kristian Fulton, Chris Jackson

More from Titan Sized

With an added body in the slot, that should mean that the Titans are more comfortable moving Kristian Fulton to one of the outside cornerback spots which is what he did at a high level in college.

Short term, that means that Fulton won’t be asked to see the field a ton and he can recover from his injury and focus on getting better.

Long term, it should mean that Adoree Jackson moves up to the CB1 this year or next year and Fulton challenges Malcolm Butler (who has a big contract with little GTD money) for the CB2 position, without leaving a vacuum in the slot.

That is something to keep an eye on and it will have a lot to do with his long-term value to the Titans.
