22. Indianapolis Colts (+0)

The Indianapolis Colts have a bye week so they won’t move until the Week 9 power rankings.

21. Miami Dolphins (+0)

The Miami Dolphins have a bye week so they won’t move until the Week 9 power rankings. However, unlike most teams on a bye week, there is something very important to talk about before next week’s power rankings.

Despite the Dolphins having momentum and also being right behind the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East standings, Miami decided to make a move at quarterback. Now, I get that the plan all along has been to replace Ryan Fitzpatrick with Tua Tagovailoa, but the timing has me torn.

On one hand, it is a perfectly reasonable argument to say that Fitzpatrick wasn’t going to win you a Super Bowl and if that is your goal then there is no reason to leave your stud prospect on the bench. So, if a switch is coming then it is best to do it during a bye week.

However, the other argument is that if he struggles a little bit early (like most rookies do) then is Tua going to blow your best chance at making a playoff appearance for the next two or three years?

I’m not saying there is a right or wrong answer, but I also think that this is a huge decision that we will look back on as a turning point in the season whether that is negative or positive.
