18. Minnesota Vikings (-5)

Ok. Deep breath. Don’t freak out.

Every team has one of these games early that you look back on and think, “Wow, I can’t believe they lost that game like that.” and maybe that was this game for the Vikings. If not, then this will be the last time that Minnesota is outside of the bottom-10 in these power rankings.

The running game was working well enough, but Kirk Cousins and the passing attack was killing them at every turn. Just a pitiful performance with just 4.3 yards per attempt and 3 interceptions and several passes tipped. Keep in mind, this was against a Colts defense that allowed a 95% completion rate last week vs the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Vikings desperately need to win this next one at home against the Tennessee Titans.

17. San Francisco 49ers (-7)

The 49ers are a really good football team, but if Nick Bosa and Soloman Thomas are out for the year, and if they have to play with Nick Mullens at QB for the next six weeks, do we expect them to win more than two of those games? Keep in mind that the 49ers have already lost once and the NFC West looks tough.

A lot can change, but this was a nightmare of a day for the 49ers aside from the fact that they did technically win the game.
