The Tennessee Titans should be interested in veteran QB Matt Moore.

In a dream world, the Tennessee Titans go out and sign someone like Joe Flacco with the upside of being signed next year to a solid deal and receiving a compensatory pick.

However, the more likely scenario is that the Titans sign someone with a lot of experience in different schemes. Someone who has won with good talent and won without it. Someone who might have a relationship with Ryan Tannehill and who could provide a nice backup option without any sort of distention in the ranks.

Enter Matt Moore.

While Moore has been rumored to be talking to different teams around the NFL this offseason, it seems like he will probably pick and choose his situation carefully.

Last year Moore was on his way to an NFL scouting job with the Miami Dolphins before rejoining the league as a backup for the Kansas City Chiefs.

In Kansas City, he was asked to step in for Patrick Mahomes after an injury, and he stepped in well against an underwhelming Denver Broncos team.

He won that game 30-6 and then went on to play in two crucial games against great teams and won one (Minnesota Vikings) and lost one (Green Bay Packers). Amassing 4 TDs, 0 INTs and 542 yards.

Coming to Tennessee would make so much sense. First of all he and Ryan Tannehill would presumably have a great relationship considering that they were both on the Miami Dolphins roster together for 6 years.

Second of all, the Titans style of offense would minimize a lot of the risk for a 36-year-old quarterback. With plenty of investments in the offensive line and at running back, Moore would never be asked to put the team on his back for a long stretch even if he had to come in.

Add into that that Tennessee’s tax situation makes it the perfect place to sign a one-year deal and that Tennessee GM Jon Robinson has been great about getting former players involved in scouting (obviously something Moore is interested in) and you have a pretty good pitch if you want him.

In 2020 teams are going to be allowed to carry 55 players which was increased for the 53-man rosters of the past. Why not use one of those roster spots on a veteran QB while you try to refine your young 7th round pick?
