Let the mad dash to sign players begin for the Tennessee Titans and 31 other teams.

Some teams don’t get the benefit of a 7th round pick to make sure they can lock down players they see as key UDFAs, but the Tennessee Titans had three, though they did make a trade and only ended up with two.

However, the 7th round has come and gone and now we are already two steps behind on the “8th round.”

It is a poorly kept secret that (while illegal) teams spend the back half of Day 3 calling agents and players telling them how much they like them and why they want them on their team even though they didn’t actually want to spend a pick on them.

This is where your best recruiters get on the phones and negotiate what it would take to get a player on the roster.

Based on what I have seen and what we know about who the Tennessee Titans have spent time with before the draft, these are the players that they are most likely to get involved with:

Steven Montez QB, Colorado State

-Titans already drafted Cole McDonald, but more bodies can’t hurt.

Marquez Callaway WR, Tennessee

-Faster than his 4.55 timed speed, Callaway is a very solid deep target and return man.

Kalija Lipscomb WR, Vanderbilt

-Tough receiver who was steady in Nashville.

Quartney Davis WR, Texas A&M

-Receiver with some explosive cuts even though his YAC numbers don’t show that as much as his routes.

More from Titan Sized

Jake Breeland TE, Oregon

-Maybe a poor man’s Anthony Firkser?

Dallas Warmack iOL, Oregon

-Brother of former Titans pick Chance Warmack and sort of plays like him.

Rodrigo Blankenship K, Georgia

-Clutch kicker who did it for years in the SEC and I know he can kick the ball out of the endzone.

Javaris Davis CB, Auburn

-35 career PBUs and ran a 4.39, feels like a steal.

A.J. Green CB, OKST

-Bigger than the Davis (6’1.5) with solid production numbers, but slow.

Myles Bryant CB, Washington

-The least impressive on paper but one of the more aggressive players on tape who could be a slot CB and a special teamer.

Shaun Bradley LB, Temple

-Undersized but athletic linebacker for Temple who never quite dominated.

Mike Danna EDGE, Michigan

-Bill Belichick loves Michigan guys and the Titans brought in Danna and Uche this year. Wonder if they left a good impression.

Darrion Daniels DL, Nebraska

-Apparently a guy that people love off the field, but never wowed with athleticism or production. Maybe a long term play as a potential gap plugger.
