Justin Madubuike, Defensive Tackle, Texas A&M

A lot of the Titans needs on defense revolve around the offseason decision of Jadaveon Clowney. The high-profile free agent has been mulling over his options on where to take his talents for over a month now, torturing Titans fans every step of the way.

Tennessee is reportedly hoping to bring Clowney in, who plays an important position of need. News on Titans cornerback Logan Ryan has been on pause too, probably until Clowney has made his decision. Much is up in the air for the Titans defense, but no matter what happens, the team will need help on the defensive line.

More from Titan Sized

Clowney would probably play outside linebacker in the Titans 3-4 defense, leaving a gap to fill on the line. That’s where Texas A&M’s Justin Madubuike comes in.

One of the strongest and quickest defensive tackles from this class, Madubuike could start on just about any NFL roster, but could comfortably find a home in Tennessee. Despite the early-returns on Jeffrey Simmons coming back promising along with the emergence of Daquan Jones, Tennessee still has a hole to fill on defense after trading longtime starter Jurrell Casey.

Madubuike has the raw talent to be a suitable Casey replacement, with the stat sheet to back it up. 11.5 tackles for loss in a strong SEC conference shows just how disruptive the Texas A&M defensive star was against some of the best college linemen in 2019.

Taking Madubuike here makes sense for the Titans’ present and future. Despite his smaller frame, Madubuike looks ready to be thrown into the NFL right now and could make noise on a Tennessee team that struggled at times last year to get into the backfield.
