If Titans miss on Jadeveon Clowney, they should trade for Kansas City Chiefs, Chris Jones

Where would the Titans use him?

Chris Jones is a 3-technique by trade and that position has potentially been earmarked for Jeffery Simmons this year even though he has spent the majority of his career in the A-gap.

While I believe that Simmons can win in any technique, imagine how nice it would be to pair Simmons up with an elite 3-tech like Chris Jones who compliments his playstyle perfectly.

This would right one of the less talked about wrongs of SEC past because despite Jeffery Simmons and Chris Jones being 22 and 25 respectively, the two just missed each other at Mississippi State. Jones declared for the draft after his Junior year and we never got to see two of the best defensive linemen in MSU history team-up.

More from Titan Sized

That wrong could easily be righted with a move here as Jones and Simmons could form one of the most dangerous defensive tackle duos in the NFL. Daquan Jones might be the odd man out, but with the athleticism of Chris Jones and Simmons, I would expect to see a lot of 3-4 looks on defense if this trade was made.

That means that this is what the Titans defensive line would look like in their base 4-2-5:

Harold Landry-Jeffery Simmons-Chris Jones-Kamalei Correa

In the 3-4-4:

-Harold Landry-Jeffery Simmons-Daquan Jones-Chris Jones-Vic Beasley

I wouldn’t mind being stronger at EDGE in the 4-2-5, but the rest of the front on those two plays looks incredibly intimidating.
