1st Round Picks

This round was the most difficult to conclude on.

In order from earliest, to most recent, Robinson’s first round picks have been: Jack Conklin, Corey Davis, Adoree Jackson, Rashaan Evans, and Jeffery Simmons.

With Davis as the exception, you could probably make a valid argument that any of the other four players listed could be considered the best first round pick of the Robinson era.

More from Titan Sized

Conklin was immediately impressive at Right Tackle, earning an All-Pro nod as a rookie. Davis has been decent, but has not come close to living up to his draft selection. Davis has been supplanted as the number one receiver by AJ Brown, a former second-round pick.

Adoree Jackson has been the most consistent Titans corner over the last few years. Jackson finished 2019 with a 76.3 rating from PFF, impressive for a corner. Jackson has also handled returns intermittently and even taken snaps on offense in his career.

Rashaan Evans had a decent rookie year in 2018, compiling 53 tackles. Evans burst onto the scene in 2019, with 111 tackles and 2.5 sacks, cementing his place as a leader on the defense.

Big Jeff missed the first half of the season due to an ACL injury suffered at the combine, but looked fantastic in a small sample size. Simmons finished 2019 with a PFF grade of 70.4 and contributed 21 tackles and 2 sacks.

As you can tell, Robinson has drafted consistently well in the first round of the draft, but I have to go with Adoree as his best selection.

Where would this secondary be without Adoree? Malcolm Butler is still recovering from a broken wrist, and Logan Ryan might be headed elsewhere in free agency. Adoree has shown that he can keep up with opposing speedsters, an area where Logan Ryan has struggled. Without Adoree, you’d have a 30-year-old Malcolm Butler and…….Chris Milton?

Overall, Robinson has a very high hit rate on first round picks however, Adoree stands out to me as currently the most valuable.
