Team needs

After free agency the Titans did bring in one outside free agent (to this point) and that is Vic Beasley the pass rush specialist from Atlanta.

On top of that, the team re-signed Dennis Kelly, Chris Milton, Ryan Tannehill, Anthony Firkser, and Derrick Henry.

So as I see it, this is what the current needs look like:

1. Cornerback

-The Tennessee Titans have five cornerbacks under contract for 2020: Malcolm Butler, Adoree Jackson, Chris Milton, Kareem Orr, and Kenneth Durden. Of those five, only two played on defense for any significant amount of time last year (Jackson and Butler) and only one of them is under contract beyond 2020 (Butler.

So, the Titans not only need a starting slot cornerback for this year, they need a boundary cornerback that can add depth to this roster that could be completely depleted at CB next year.

2. Offensive Tackle

Taylor Lewan and Dennis Kelly are a good enough pairing at left and right tackle, but there isn’t any depth behind them. The Titans have to fix that and they should be trying to look for someone to replace the void Kelly just vacated as swing tackle.

3. Running back

-Derrick Henry is under contract for 2020, but the Titans need a starter for 2021 and even if that is Henry they need to give him someone competent behind him who can start in a pinch.

4. “Run down” EDGE

Harold Landry is the only EDGE on this roster that I feel comfortable watching on 1st and 2nd down. Vic Beasley, Derick Roberson and D’Andre Walker are all solid pass rushing options but seem like they won’t bring much to the table vs the run.

5. WR depth

-The Titans are expected to decline the 5th year option on Corey Davis, and it doesn’t seem like they are going to try to bring back Tajae Sharpe. That means that the Titans need to be looking for someone to play on the boundary this year or in 2021 at the very least.
