The Tennessee Titans right tackle Jack Conklin agrees to terms with the Cleveland Browns.
The Tennessee Titans are back on the market for a new right tackle as Jack Conklin agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns. Reported by Conklin’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, Jack has agreed to a three year, $42 million deal with $30 million in guarantees.
The new Cleveland Brown was drafted eighth overall in the 2016 NFL draft after general manager Jon Robinson traded up to pick the right tackle out of Michigan State. Conklin immediately made his impact on the team after taking the starting job from Byron Bell. In his first season, Conklin made the First Team All-Pro team as a rookie and an alternate for the Pro Bowl.
Conklin had a solid second season but that ended after tearing his ACL in the AFC Divisional Round playoff loss to New England. After that injury, Conklin struggled to regain his form. His 2018 season was marred with injuries across the board and he went onto the injured reserve to the latter half of the season.

The Titans had solid anchors on both ends of the offensive line with he and Taylor Lewan that saw the team go to two playoffs over their four seasons together. While Conklin never reached his peak performance in his rookie season, he was vital in the Titans offensive success.
The Titans seemed to indicate that they were willing to move on from the right tackle after declining his fifth year option prior to the 2019 season. After the year, the Titans kept mum on the former first round pick, indicating that they would be comfortable letting him walk in free agency.
The Titans have a big hole to fill now. The team struggled with the offensive line depth this year, particularly in the beginning of the season. While tackle Dennis Kelly should be expected to slot in, the team will inevitably look into the free agent market and NFL draft to nab a longer term starter.
The Titans have enjoyed the four years that Conklin gave the team. He was a beloved by fans and teammates. While Conklin will go to Cleveland to revitalize their offensive line, the Titans are back to the board to see the next anchor to protect their star quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry.
