Linebacker

Nick Vigil

-Vigil spent all three years with new linebacker’s coach Jim Haslett so there are very few players with a better direct connection to a current coach on the Titans roster.

Since the Titans really only need depth and maybe special teams help at linebacker, this is a move than makes sense given that Vigil seemed to be a little bit less than ideal as a starter.

Will Compton

-Literally every coach on the roster has a connection to Compton (except for Haslett) after his stint with the Titans last year. A fan favorite and a special teams…specialist, the Titans should bring Compton back for a lot of reasons.

Mainly, I think the plan with Compton should be to groom him for a linebacker or special teams coaching job. If Mike Vrabel is going to ignore outside hires for his position coaches and coordinators, it is time to start planting those seeds now.

Bring Compton in for a year and give him some small coaching responsibilities while you utilize him as a rotational player and special teams ace.

This is a win-win for everyone and the team can print money on merch.

Right now, the Tennessee Titans have their starting ILBs in Rashaan Evans and Jayon Brown who can do anything you want your starting linebackers to do. Having David Long behind them gives them the option to add more speed at that level and having Compton back would give them another brain on the field who knows how to tackle and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work.

Plus I mean, the Boy deserves to be in the great state of Tennessee full time.
