Cornerback

Aqib Talib

-Titans GM Jon Robinson was on the staff in New England that traded for Talib seeing exactly what he could be in the right system away from (ironically) Tampa Bay.

The Titans need to find ways to stop the vertical threats that they face, so this may seem like an odd fit because Talib thrives more going against bigger receivers in the NFL. While that is true, I think getting Talib to start on the boundary with Butler focusing on quicker receivers and with Adoree Jackson in the mix as well, it would make the Titans better even though it isn’t the easy “insert fast CB here” fit that other players could be.

Bradley Roby

-Roby and the Joseph (below) are both players who spent time with new DB coach Anthony Midget in Houston.

If the Titans look at Roby, it probably won’t be a long term deal but instead a short term, prove it situation where he has one job: stop speed receivers.

Coming out, Roby ran a 4.39 and has always been very good at knocking away passes thanks to his catch up speed. If the Titans see Roby as a chance to upgrade their speed to help against matchups like Will Fuller, Tyreek Hill, T.Y. Hilton, and others I think fans would be all for it.

Johnathan Joseph

-The Tennessee Titans are likely losing a leader in the secondary in Logan Ryan. While you could and should argue that the Titans don’t really need any more leaders in the secondary with guys like Kevin Byard, Kenny Vaccaro and Malcolm Butler all having established themselves in the NFL, the point is that more leaders are rarely a bad thing.

Joseph has been a mainstay in the league for a long time and he has played boundary corner and slot corner, his experience and versatility will help the Titans cope with the loss of Ryan at a cheaper price.
