Tennessee Titans: Logan Ryan trolls Tom Brady after pick-six
Tennessee Titans cornerback Logan Ryan appreciates New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady throwing him a pick-six on Saturday night.
With the Tennessee Titans holding a 14-13 lead over the New England Patriots with 15 seconds left in regulation, quarterback Tom Brady threw an interception that resulted in a pick-six for cornerback Logan Ryan.
Brady was at the one-yard line at the time, and the interception, which was the result of cornerback Tramaine Brock tipping Brady’s pass, sealed the deal for the Titans’ huge win on Saturday night in Foxborough.
After the game, Ryan trolled the future Hall of Fame quarterback and thanked him for a football that he says is “going on his mantle”, per John Glennon of The Athletic.
"“I appreciate TB12 for that one, man. That one’s going on my mantle.”"
The interception was a relief and a bit of redemption for Ryan, who had dropped a Brady pass that hit him right in the hands and could have been another pick-six near the end of the first half
Ryan did go on to praise his former teammate and rightfully gave him the respect he deserves, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.
"“I think (intercepting) Tom Brady, I’ll keep it for my mantel. He has been a role model for me, and a lot of his work ethic I studied and tried to bring to Tennessee. That’s the goat in my eyes, so I am happy I got one off of him.”"
Ryan was on fire after the game, as he also took a shot at Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy for his comment from earlier in the week about going on a “revenge tour” that was supposed to start with the Titans.
"“Tom Brady doesn’t do that. Julian Edelman doesn’t do that. Devin McCourty, (Stephon Gilmore) – they don’t do that. And Kyle Van Noy is running his mouth and giving us bulletin board material about his revenge tour. His revenge tour ended early.”"
Thanks to the efforts of Ryan, and the Titans’ defense as a whole, Tennessee will be moving on to the next round to take on the Baltimore Ravens.
No matter what happens in that contest, this is a win that the Titans and their fans will remember for a long, long time to come, and Ryan’s pick-six will be one of the signature plays in franchise history.
