Loser: Dion Lewis

Like with the Jamil Douglas take, I don’t want to pile on relentlessly but yesterday Dion Lewis had 8 touches for 20 yards which comes out to 2.5 yards per touch.

Dumping the ball of to Lewis right now is better than a negative play, but it isn’t necessarily helping the Titans.

Despite Adam Archuleta‘s insistence, Lewis isn’t someone the Titans should be featuring but he is still getting nearly 30% of the snaps. I don’t know if the Titans would have any interest in an outside RB at this point or if they would be willing to make a move to use David Fluellen more, but something has to change.

I don’t really understand why Derrick Henry is getting subbed out so frequently, they both are unreliable receivers and Henry is solid in pass protection. Still, every 3rd and long or situation where the Titans can’t at least use Henry as a decoy, Lewis is on the field.

It bothers me because those plays are drives that turn into 2nd and 9 and ultimately leave the Titans in 3rd and medium-long, which isn’t a high percentage situation. So, those plays don’t seem big until the Titans are punting two plays later.
